Hotter'N Hell Hundred

  • 104 Scott Avenue Wichita Falls, TX, 76301 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Hotter’N Hell Hundred grew out of efforts to find a special way for Wichita Falls to celebrate its 1982 centennial. The Wichita Falls Bicycle Club proposed a bicycle ride – 100 miles in 100 degree heat to celebrate 100 years, coining the name: Hotter’N Hell Hundred. The rest is Hotter’N Hell History.

We grew geometrically for several years.  The Hotter’N Hell Hundred is still the largest single day 100 mile bicycle ride in the nation – and one of the largest in the world. In 2015 more than 13,000 registrants participated in the Hotter’N Hell Hundred weekend events. 2018 Hotter'N Hell Hundred saw almost 12,000 registrants for the weekend events.

Tour de Clydesdale

The Clydesdales are teaming up with JDRF to create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D) for the millions of children and adults living with this disease. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults—and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle.  Living with T1D means there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope.

By participating in the Tour de Clydesdale, you’ll help JDRF fund life-changing breakthroughs to make living with T1D safer and healthier, until there is a cure.

Blood Sweat & Gears

BSG is a challenging to strenuous 100 mile loop ride starting and ending at the Valle Crucis Elementary School, approximately 5 miles south of Boone, North Carolina. The cumulative climbing elevation is 8188 feet with the climb up to the gap at Snake Mountain, milepoint 59, reaching an 18-20% grade near the top.

BSG showcases the mountain communities of Watauga and Ashe counties, North Carolina; highlights of the route is the signature climb over the 4,500 foot gap at Snake Mountain, and a 8 mile "flat" on old US 421.

A 50 mile, 4,200 feet elevation, "Half Century" is available for those who prefer the sanity of a challenging but shorter route. Both rides are fully supported with aid stations and SAG support.

Blood Sweat and Gears is planned and executed by BSG Events, Inc., a fund raising non-profit.   Net proceeds from the ride are donated to local charities in the High Country.

Horsey Hundred

  • 400 East College Street Georgetown, KY, 40324 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Horsey Hundred is the premier cycling event of the Bluegrass Cycling Club. We’ve come a long way since the inaugural Horsey Hundred was held at the Kentucky Horse Park (Lexington, KY) in 1978. The first event featured a 50 mile route option on Saturday and Sunday with an optional Century ride on Saturday. Riders were provided with maps, but there were no road markings and rider support. Participants were, however, treated to a slide show and movies at the Horse Park Saturday evening. No records exist of how many participated the first year, but the next year (1979) had sixty-five participants. From 1980 – 1982 the Horsey Hundred was held at Midway College (Midway, KY). By 1982 the number of riders more than tripled to over 200. In 1983 the Horsey Hundred moved to Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY which remains our home today.
